Kia’s 2022 K900 flagship is close to its official release following an online brochure that describes not only its appearance but also the specifications, engine range, and price for the Korean market. The visuals pretty much confirm what we already knew from previous spy images and various sketches. The new K900 will have a more elegant look than its predecessor, with lots of chrome inserts, front, rear, and profile of mobil Kia.
Meanwhile, the headlights and taillights have very similar graphics, the wheels have a 10-twin-spoke design and the silhouette gets a paddle-like design element – the BMW 7 Series is also rocking one of these, albeit more of a field hockey stick.
Korean customers will be able to order the K900 (the K9 there) and choose from seven exterior colors, including white, silver, black, blue, brown, and two shades of gray. It remains to be seen if the same color palette will be delivered to U.S. customers.
The interior is designed just like the sketch, with a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display (which looks bigger than we thought), and an overall minimalist interior layout where you can get multiple color combinations.
The new K900 will come with three power units, including a twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 T-GDI engine, a 3.8-liter GDi and a larger 5.0-liter V8. While the 2022 K900 will indeed come with all-wheel drive, it seems you’ll only be able to get it on one of the V6 variants.
As for pricing, Korean customers will be able to purchase the entry-level 3.8 GDi model from 54,900,000 won ($51,057), while the flagship 5.0-liter V8 pushes the price back up to 93,800,000 won ($87,234).
The 2022 Kia K900 is still expected to debut next week at this year’s New York Auto Show, with sales scheduled to begin in select markets from April to June (second quarter).
